The Visita Iglesia (or in English “Church Visit”) is a Roman Catholic Lenten tradition that began back in Rome and is especially popular in the Philippines and Spanish cultures, where the faithful visit at least seven (and sometimes fourteen) different churches to pray and reflect. Visiting multiple church sites represent the path Christ takes from the Garden of Gethsemane through to the crucifixion while giving the faithful to pray with Christ as he asked his disciples to pray with him in the garden.
For any of our faithful who would like to take part in this tradition, here are a listing of churches and the times they will be open to visit in the area.
