World Day of Fasting, Penance, and Prayer for Peace October 27

Please join us at the 8:00 a.m. Mass on Friday, October 27 as Holy Child Jesus Parish and the Archdiocese of Chicago join Pope Francis’ global plea for a World Day of Fasting, Penance, and Prayer for Peace.
This will be a special Mass for the restoration of peace and justice.

Pope Francis warns against humanitarian calamity with ongoing wars in Middle East and Ukraine. “War does not solve any problems, it only sows death and destruction. It increases hatred, multiplies revenge. War erases the future, it erases the future.”
The Holy Father has also called us to a day of fasting and repentance on October 27.

Let us add our prayers to those of our brothers and sisters throughout the world. Let us fast to show our solidarity with those who are in crisis. Let us do penance to acknowledge and repent of our own sins and do what we can to repair the sins of the world.
