Jesus Christ is truly present in the Eucharist. His life-giving offering provides food for our souls, brings us hope and peace. To be in the presence of Jesus means that we are with God and God is with us. Yet too often we forget this. We receive the Eucharist without stopping to think what it truly means to receive the Eucharist with joy, to know that we have God within us and to bring ourselves and God into the world. Look at the shining faces of the children receiving their First Communion. They know that they are in the presence of something that is wonderful. Can we who are older do the same? The National Eucharistic Revival is meant to reawaken our joy and our hope, remind ourselves that we are in the presence of wonder and awe of Christ. As part of this revival, Holy Child Jesus Parish will have an additional Adoration and Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament on every third Friday of every month between 9:00 a.m. and 6:45 p.m. with Benediction to follow at 7:00 p.m. We will be in the presence of Christ, worship him, praise him, talk to him. We can rest in his arms, be peaceful knowing that he loves us. Sign-up for one-hour adoration times for is available HERE, by calling the Rectory at (773) 764-0615, or filling out the form at the back of church. Spend some time with Jesus!
